WELCOME. The Houston SPCA was founded in 1924 and remains Houston's oldest and largest Animal Protection Organization. Completely privately funded, we are proud to serve more than 100,000 animals annually. We remain committed to our mission to promote commitment to and respect for all animals and to free them from suffering, abuse and exploitation. Adopt, donate, volunteer, report cruelty: Won't you help us be the voice of the voiceless?
Animal Talk With Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. As the keynote speaker at the fourth annual Houston SPCA Animal Talk Luncheon on Thursday, May 15, 2008, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will host a frank, informative and challenging talk about our environmental destiny. Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s reputation as a resolute defender of the environment stems from a litany of successful legal actions. Mr. Kennedy was named one of Time magazine's “Heroes for the Planet." Visit our Events page for details on how you can join us for this exciting event.
We Need Your Help! A place to grow bigger and stronger, a quiet place to heal, or a break from shelter life, these are just some of the things a Foster family can offer a deserving animal. The Houston SPCA relies on Foster homes to help save the lives of hundreds of animals each year. If you have considered volunteering but do not have time to come into the shelter, or have space in your heart and a home for an animal in need, Fostering might be for you. Visit our Foster page for details on how you can open your home to an animal in need.
